Passion Projects

This little section illustrates the roles that step a little out of the ‘girl friday’ realm. These  roles represent my ongoing commitment to a variety of businesses and enterprises which have become dear to my heart.

the present state of things | coming in march 2011

In February 2010 year my mum, Helen Moore went to India to teach on a project called Stree Shakti, a women empowerment programme which aims to empower women artisans to create handmade quilts and textile crafts.  Needless to say she came home with a few quilts that were loved so much that she sold them to friends in just days of her return.

Mum and I will be bringing more of these to England in March to exhibit and sell along side a few of our favourite gifts and stationery. This is The Present State of Things.

festival postcards and amnesty international | june 2010

To celebrate 40years of Glastonbury we teamed up with Amnesty international and ran a photo competition. The idea was simple, festival lovers and photography enthusiasts sent us their photos and the ones we liked we put on postcards, sold them at Glastonbury and donated some of the profit to Amnesty International.

We did this because we believe in writing and the power of a letter, a postcard and action. From the very beginning of Amnesty International, people have written letters on behalf of victims of human rights abuses. By continuing to write we learn its power and can start to use it to change peoples lives.

The competition was a huge success and we will be working with Amnesty again next year.

festival postcards | 1981-present

This business was started by my parents the year I was born; 6 years ago I took it over. I now run four sites at Glastonbury festival, employ a large team and keep selling the message that post is good!

We run a postal service for the festival punters. At our stall you can buy a postcard, a stamp, write your card and post it in our box. Twice a day we leave the festival on our bicycle to meet a Royal Mail van and send festival tales across the world.

royal ballet school | 2008-2009

As Development and Publicity Coordinator my key responsibility was to manage the Friends Membership programme. My role required a varied knowledge and understanding of marketing and fundraising. I worked with all walks of life: ballet company’s directors, foundation trustees, important patrons, Friends of the School and students. I loved my job at The Royal Ballet School.
